Lydia Gray sings American and Brazilian Jazz Standards with a skillful refinement and warmth, which reveals a glimpse of her distinguished entertainment lineage. Ms. Gray is the daughter of 50's singer Betty Johnson (early Tonight Show fame) granddaughter to the founders of the celebrated Johnson family singers of Charlotte, NC as well as sister to the well-known, Spanish big band singer, Elisabeth Gray.
Lydia Gray has delighted audiences in New York City at the famous Algonquin, Cafe Pierre and Danny's Skylight Room. Ms. Gray now joins guitarist Ed Eastridge in a style that gracefully blends a modern sound into classic popular Brazilian standards. This new CD is filled with subtly romantic music, which engages the listener yet is ideally suited for dinner accompaniment.
